To strengthen science understanding and real-world application among 5th and 8th grade students through targeted tutoring and hands-on STEAM learning experiences.

Audience: 5th and 8th Grade Students preparing for STAAR Science 2026
Duration: 8 Weeks (6 Tutoring Sessions + 1 Makeup Week + 1 Spring Break)

Each week focuses on a different TEKS science strand aligned to the new 2024–2025 Texas Science Standards.
Students meet virtually once a week for 30–45 minutes.

Session Breakdown:
• 20–25 mins: TEKS-based mini-lesson
• 15–20 mins: Hands-on or project-based STEAM activity

STEAM Fair Showcase

Students will present science-based projects aligned with topics from the tutoring program.

Judges will include educators, college faculty, and community professionals.
